responsibilities (SW College, n.d.). They listen to employees ideas, suggestions, and complaints. 1. Content, process, and reinforcement motivations are incorporated into the companys relationship with employees. Maslows hierarchy of
needs is a content theory (SW College, n.d.). The benefits package includes insurance coverage, a retirement saving plan, and vacations which fulfill Maslows lowest level of needs, safety and security.
Maslows social needs are met with the work/life program that will link employees who have shared interests (SW College, n.d.). Esteem needs are fulfilled through the way in which the
company treats all employees. Social exchange theory is a process theory and is realized through the relationships (SW College, n.d.). Starbucks expects excellent performance from all employees and expects them
to adopt corporate values. In return the company provides the work environment in which employees can succeed (SW College, n.d.). Starbucks treats suppliers with the same kind of respect and
dignity and according to Hay Grand Canyon College, 2003), they make sure the farmers make a living. This same theme is carried to consumers. Starbucks provides what they expect, which
can fit within content, process, and reinforcement motivation. Reinforcement theory follows Skinners theory of operant conditioning, which basically states that when a certain behavior s performed, the person will
