in the past; terrorist organizations and rogue states present different types of threats than in the past and they bring with them a very different kind of conflict (Institute for
Foreign Policy Analysis, Inc., 2003). The threats are hidden and they are diffused and they encompass adversaries who are capable of inflicting "catastrophic damage" through the use of weapons of
mass destruction and through other more innovative tactics, witness the devastation of September 11 (Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis, Inc., 2003). This arena of uncertain security in the world requires
an equally unique and aggressive force against it (Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis, Inc., 2003). The members of the elite Army Rangers, Navy Seals and the Green Berets underwent rigorous
screening and training before they were admitted to these Forces. Their training alone explains why and how they play such an essential role in the war on terrorism. Training includes
