For the most part, perceived notions regarding job readiness were quite different among respondents, with some not realizing there was any kind of an employment process necessary to secure gainful employment. Particularly pertinent to these findings is the fact that a number of respondents had had no previous exposure to the social aspects of daily life, having been shielded to such realities by virtue of their special needs. The strengths of this study include the ability to determine the depths of how in-school readiness helps to prepare special needs students for finding and maintaining gainful employment once out of the academic environment. The limitations include the limited number of respondents who participated in the study, leaving far too narrow a scope on any findings. The researchers are not at liberty to generalize to other special needs populations, however, inasmuch as no two groups will reflect the same findings. Overall, the benefit of these findings indicates how there is a primarily positive impression of perceived significance by students, staff and teachers alike. Quality of preparation, in particular, was said to have a significant impact upon the way in which special needs students were able to transition from the school environment to the real workplace.
