that were being hunted as they were seen by the locals as pests. This article shows the importance and value of working with the local community. By developing the area
into a tourist attraction which would bring money into the economy the locals have stopped hunting the jaguars due tot their won cost benefit analysis. The locals are
paid not to shot the Jaguars, and the set up of this project was complex involving Wildlife Conservation Society who were sponsored by Jaguar cars for this project and also
input from expertise. The result was a project that has been satisfactory for all and the fears regarding the Jaguars being pests have not been realised as cattle, who the
hunters were protecting, traditionally make up less tan 15% of a Jaguars diet. This is a good case study that demonstrates how different stakeholders need to reach agreement for SIT

comprehensive look at different types of special interest tourism (SIT). A goof introduction gives a strong overview of the concept and practice of special interest tourism from educational tourism to
