II. VOUCHERS There have been various modifications and accommodations for students with special needs in the regular classroom. Included in these are special homework assignments that differ in the degree of difficulty and length; a more personalized approach to teaching the individual; and special preparation for such important tests as the SAT exam (Leong, 2005). Empirical studies have provided critical information with regard to the need for these specialized focus points, reminding all that special needs students require more personalized adaptations if they are to become incorporated into regular education classrooms, rather than be forced to apply themselves to the standards of regular education students.
