of evidence that can be produced is that of a confession, as such this has been subject to a number of court rulings that look at the way that confessions
may be obtained and used. Two cases that can be considered are Spano v. New York and Arizona v. Fulminante. Each of these can be considered individually and then compared.
Spano saw the case of an immigrant with only a junior high school education shoot a man following a bar fight. After shooting the man he ran away, and it
was while he was in hiding that he was indicted for murder While on the run he called a close fried; Gaspar Bruno, who was in training to become a
police officer. In this conversation he told his friend that he was intending to get an attorney and then surrender to the police, a move he subsequently did the next
day. The issues with the case arise with the way that the police force used the friendship with Bruno in order to solicit a confession while they were denying him
access to his attorney. On the first day Spano was provided with dinner, but he was told he could not consult with his attorney, on the second day he
was moved a different police station, and once again was not allowed to consult with his attorney. In the mean time Bruno was under instructions to solicit a confession, telling
Spano that he would get in trouble in Spano did not confess. Bruno attempted to get a confession from Span four times, and each time Spano asked to see his
attorney, a request that was denied. He was questioned for a long period of time and eventually confessed. The confession was given in response to a question and answer session,
