(Christ Unlimited Ministries, 2005). There are those who believe that spanking is nothing more than the reflection of a parent losing control and running out of options. The following paper
presents 4 different sides to the issue. Spanking is good and necessary There are numerous parents who believe strongly that spanking is a very necessary part of training
a child to know what is accepted and what is not accepted in a family. As mentioned previously, some people will cite the Bible in their arguments, claiming that if
you spare the rod, do not spank, you will spoil the child. These parents believe strongly that spanking, not beating is very essential for a child because it teaches them
to find self control and it teaches them to do what they are told. It is not done to hurt them, but to shock them and make them realize there
is a consequence for disobeying a parents orders. Spanking is to be used as a last resort and only in dangerous situations There are many parents who do
not necessarily agree that spanking is a good thing, but that it is incredibly necessary in certain situations. For example, a child that is about to run out in the
street cannot be stopped with words and must be taken and spanked to demonstrate the dangerous nature of their actions. There are parents who believe that if a child hits
