the interior in many Greek and Roman structures. In essence, through the history of architectural design, interior design has been a very deeply connected aspect of architecture.
During the Baroque period of artistic endeavors architecture and interior design began to clearly stray from previous forms of structural design, such as the Renaissance,
as architecture and interior design, including paintings and independent sculptures, truly became part of one whole. And, with the Rococo style that flowed along with, and also out of the
Baroque, this connection and interrelationship became even stronger and more predominant, especially in Spain. With these perspectives in mind the following paper examines the Baroque and Rococo periods of architecture
in Spain, as well as the Spanish New World (Mexico) as they also related to interior design and the development of the styles themselves which combined architecture and interior design.
