Sovereignty - in and of itself - is not an undesirable status to uphold in a world where it has become critical for many states to assert their autonomy in
the quest for freedom, power or other sociopolitical reason. However, as Jackson points out, its value and implication often become contorted in the hurried frenzy to establish this status,
which then leads to misapplication of its true meaning for something much more adversative. For example, consideration of terrorists as non-state actors in world politics illustrates how such groups
form out of a need to "right" perceived wrongs. Since they believe their duty is to save people from political transgression, they view themselves as sovereign citizens who have
the inherent right to engage in violent activities sans any endorsement from - and often against the will of - the state. Their belief is that fire must be
