increase the active time of the machinery, and increase the shift patterns. The problem is not only the limited way in which the increased capacity will be implemented,
but also the morale of the staff on this production run. They are the best employees, with the highest skill level, and although membership of this team gives them a
level of recognition, they are not paid any extra amount, and are becoming very de-motivated. The CEO realises that to make the changes there may need to be some changes
in the payment of the employees to recognise there additional contribution to the company. However, as the goods are not supplied under any long-term contract, and the new product is
a move away the customers core competences, there is the need to develop a system that is flexible enough to return to the older system if the orders to not
continue. The issue here is to maximise resources and create more value so that the profits can be retained. For the company this means not only in terms of operations,
but also in terms of the staff. The level of motivations needs to be increased, and although a level of recognition is already granted, and some increase in pay, such
as an additional shift allowance for the changes may be appreciated and also reversible. Motivation requires more than money and as such the company needs to look at taking a
