One controversy involved Illawarra Area Health Service that used money earmarked for a specific purpose for general cancer care (2). This important controversy concerning the use of money for cancer patients involves the deferring of government money provided to replace a hospital accelerator (2). The government had provided the money for the hospital over a ten year period and but the facility used it for another purpose (2). The dilemma was discovered as a result of a routine audit (2).
