Essay / Research Paper Abstract
6 pages in length. Turn-of-the-century urbanization proved to be a positive move with regard to overall growth; however, it was at the same time a curse upon the people who attempted to keep up with the nation's rapid development. Problems developed as spurts of new cities continued to sprout up virtually overnight, and the nation's values became such that people began losing their ability to be patient and amenable amidst the perpetual expansion. There can be no argument that the quick creation of so many new cities taught society to appreciate and rethink its values with regard to just how much urbanization was truly good for the country at one time. As time progressed and urbanization became a mainstay of American social culture, the socio-spatial perspective was born to address the ever-widening segregation. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
