reported where a plane flew into the World Trade Center. It was thought to be an unusual event, but few thought of terrorism in those first minutes. After all, never
before had the mainland been attacked and if it were a terrorist attack, it would be construed as an act of war. When it happened again, with another plane, people
immediately reacted. It could not have been coincidental. It was suddenly noted that there were other missing planes, perhaps as many as ten. There was a great deal of fear.
It was heard that there were planes located around the Washington D.C. area that could not be tracked. Soon afterwards, people would find out that a plane went down in
a remote area not too far from the White House. Some people who lived in New York and New Jersey at the time went to their shores to witness
the burning of the tallest buildings in the world and its crumbling. Even as far as Union Beach, New Jersey, the pencil thin towers could be seen fading into the
background, only to leave a black cloud of smoke behind. It would take days to figure out what had happened. There are still myths and legends surrounding the horrific
event. There are numerous conspiracy theories floating around regarding what really happened that day, but none seem to have any weight ("9/11 Debunking," 2005). It appears that America did witness
a full fledged terrorist attack. George Bush led the country out of its funk where after a couple of days, he visited New York and pledged to get the terrorists
