The community health initiative focuses on an educational health fair for parents that relates methods for communicating with teens about sex and high risk sexual behaviors, as well as educational programming for teens that covers the consequences of early sexual behaviors and sexual risk-taking, as well as provides prevention information in relation to the problems of teen pregnancy and STD transmission. The focus of these programs is to ensure that community education and advocacy is used to address the health of teens through improved perspectives on sexuality, sexual behaviors and the risks involved. Overview of the community health plan The community health plan is linked to the belief that there are risk factors that can be assessed in an aggregate that are influenced by both parental and school variables and that these variables need to be addressed within the scope of the programming process.
