Introduction Myrna Orenstein (2001) writes a volume about Learning disabilities entitled Smart but Stuck: Emotional Aspects of Learning Disabilities and Imprisoned Intelligence. Orenstein (2001) draws on twenty case studies to provide the reader with information to be used either personally or professionally. Ethics is a concern of this authors and that comes through in the book quite often. The author always expresses concerns about how people are treated in general. Emotions are at the forefront of Orensteins (2001) journey into the topic of learning disabilities. People after all who are of average intelligence, or even at a higher level of intelligence than average, feel "stupid" when they are not able to keep up with their classmates.
