a great deal of controversy and debate. For every one theory or idea another one is there to combat and argue the opposite. And, this is the sort of debate or examination that has been going on perhaps since the beginning of time as humans try to make sense of their world. One of the greatest thinkers of his time was Plato and one of the most renown minds of our time is Peter Singer. Not surprisingly, the modern world does not take the philosophical opinions of Plato personally, and thus become angered by them in the same way they do the philosophical ideals of Peter Singer. However, at the same time the two may have many ideals in common. With that in mind the following paper examines the philosophical ideas of Singer and then Plato as they relate to human nature, human knowledge, and human politics. Singer Singer is a very modern, leftist, controversial thinker. He is one man who seems to either make sense to people, or completely anger them in his arguments concerning human life. One of his most controversial arguments concerns the disabled. He argues that human nature dictates that we allow disabled infants to die. He argues that human nature needs to find life fulfillment and that a disabled individual should be allowed to die because their quality of life will not allow them to find fulfillment. This all revolves around Singers arguments concerning Darwinism. Through the most simplistic look at Darwanism and the human condition involving survival of the fittest. With such realities human nature will always seek out the weak and try to prove who is strongest, no matter what our "ideals" may be.
