plans to do great damage and harm. The civilized world works together today to prevent as many terrorist attacks as possible anyplace in the world. Signs of Terrorist
Activities Numerous organizations publish documents called the x-number signs of terrorist activities. New Jersey, Colorado, and Indiana publish the 8 Signs of Terrorism. Kansas City and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority,
Police Department in New York published the 7 signs of Terrorists Activities (MTA Police Department, 2012). The difference between the 8 signs and the 7 signs is funding. The
7 signs are surveillance, elicitation, tests of security, acquiring supplies, suspicious people who dont belong or suspicious activities, dry runs, and deploying assets/getting into position (MTA Police Department, 2012).
This paper will emphasize surveillance, suspicious people who dont belong or suspicious activities, and dry runs. It may be that the police have the greatest chance of apprehending potential terrorists
during these steps in the process. One of the challenges in recognizing a possible terrorist threat is that terrorists may do all of these steps months, even years in advance
of the actual attack. The people who flew into the towers had been here for years, insinuating themselves into their neighborhoods and taking flying lessons. There was nothing really suspicious
