global faiths. Mohamed Mukadam, the Muslim parent-governor at his communitys school, believes that such integration is a positive attempt to educate children on the benefits of other world religions,
but he firmly contends that the native religion should be taught first and then used as a springboard to understanding other faiths. After students have grasped the concept of
their own faith, they would then be better equipped to "reinforce the shared fundamental moral tenets" (Midgley 15) with other religions. Furthermore, learning about such controversial issues as creationism
alongside the theory of evolution allows students to impart their own reasoning and decide which explanation better suits their personal beliefs. Establishing a
common bond between and among such religions as Judaism, Christianity and Islam as a means by which to teach schoolchildren does not require that one look too deeply into their
religious pasts. The similarities are quite striking when one merely observes the various belief systems as they have existed throughout the centuries. Perhaps the greatest similarities lie between
the Christianity and Islam faiths; indeed, there are considerable concurrent issues that lead one to believe the history behind the to faiths is more alike than most realize. Scholars
have long recognized the parallelism between the two as they clearly display where various "ideas, practices and superstitions of one religions had trickled imperceptibly into another" (Dalrymple 28).
