organic growth and its strategic ability to gain market share and not by acquisition. It ma be argued that in this case Microsoft were being penalised for simply being too
successful. The company had created an almost monopoly like hold on many areas of the software market. Moreover we can argue that it has only grown to this dominance as
a result of its product offerings and strategy which has also brought many advantages such as a standardized operating system and interoperability of many programs.
If we look at the anti-trust laws there is the assertion that this is automatically bad but it can asked whether or not it is fair to
apply anti-trust laws to a company which has grown in this way as a result of developing and selling goods with organic growth and meeting customer demand, especially of there
is not an outward appearance of an attempt to dominant the market. To appreciate this as far as Microsoft is concerned we first needs to review the Microsoft case and
