frightening for it does things we could not even imagine. It is incredibly frightening for it steps beyond our simple comprehension of evil and wrong, and delves further into a reality we would rather not know existed. Such evil, when seen, is perhaps impossible to ever forget. Simple evils we can dismiss and not remember specifics, but true and powerful evil is a reality that can never be forgotten once seen. The film "Seven" has often been seen by many critics as unnecessary, for it displays many evils we would be better off not seeing, though they play on our morals and our understanding that the seven deadly sins exist. The fact that the film was even made disturbs many individuals because it depicts evils and scenes which we can never forget and which we were perhaps better off not seeing or recognizing consciously. We may forget the name of the film, and we may forget who was in the movie, but in "Seven" there are scenes which, when seen, are never forgotten. In the following paper we present an examination of two scenes in "Seven" which depict such an evil and unimaginable reality that we can never shake them from our consciousness, thereby presenting us with a very powerful understanding of how terrifying evil can be. Scene One "Gluttony, the set reveals the neglect the character had for everything in his life except for food" (Anonymous Seven seven.htm). With this particular scene we are presented with the first of the deadly sins.
