and political loss. The man was in Iraq to help stabilise the country and transition the occupation to a self ruling democracy. One is left wondering if Sergio had a
feeling this may have been a doomed mission. He had not wanted to go and it was his last, in an area where he knew there were serous security issues.
The human element of the events is seen through the eyes and words of the rescuers who battled to save his life in conditions where there was little support
or coordination. When the new of his loss is described by his family the documentary becomes emotional and the personal loss is emphasized. Part 2 - Critique The
documentary film Sergio is about the life and work of Sergio Vieira de Mello, using his work in Iraq and the events that led to his death on the 19th
of August as a starting point and looking at the explosion that would kill him along with 20 other UN staff. The documentary effectively tells the story of his life
and death, and his concern for others and good works. Sergio Vieira de Mello was the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, having joined the UN straight out
of collage at age 21 and appointed to this position in 2002. The film looks at the work and life of this man, starting with the last part of
