the results, equity and asset bases are increasing, but there has been a relativity small fall in the revenues and a fall in efficiency as measured by the profit ratios
and the return on equity and assets. The share price reflects this performance, which is well under the industry average. There have been some rallies in the share price, with
results that are better than expected and the use of dividend signalling by management, but overall, this is still a company that is under performing and needs to address these
issues which appear to be lead by falling sales. Question 1 Sempra Energy filed the annual financial statement (10-K)for the year ending 31st December on the 26th of
February 2008 (Yahoo Finance, 2008). The results were also made public on this date with the press release giving the basis of the annual account results (Sempra, 2008).
Question 2 We can look at the changes in the stock price around the time of the financial year end and until the time around the results were filed
and announced to consider what changes were seen in the share price. The results have been collected on a daily basis using the closing prices. If we look at the
share price there is a general decline, with a dip and then an increase over the release periods and then there is a stabilizing over the period where the results
