in the products demonstrated, and it is the consultants job to sell those products to Jennie. All of the guests have arrived for
the beginning of the class ("party" to others, "class" to Mary Kay consultants), and the guests and consultant have gathered at a table in the hostess home. A mirror
and disposable tray, along with various applicators for trying samples of glamour products, is before each of the guests and the hostess. The main attraction, items of the skin
care program, require only fingers and a washcloth for each guest. Background and Demonstration Mary Kay products came from a hide-tanners formulation.
The tanner noticed that the tanners hands were always soft and smooth, and the tanner realized it was because of the products used in tanning hides. The tanner altered
the formula for use on skin, and a relative sold the products from a home beauty shop for years. After the relatives death, Mary Kay bought the formulas from
the womans family and began selling the products as Mary Kay Cosmetics. The products have changed in form over the years, but the basic formulas remain.
