Indias poor into unwitting donors who will sell pieces of themselves just to survive another day for a fraction of the price they are sold to the recipients (Mudur, 2004).
"The dramatic success rates of operations, Indias lack of medical regulations and an atmosphere of loose medical ethics has also fueled the kidney transplant growth. The result has
been that supply and demand created a marriage of unequals, wedding wealthy but desperate people dependent on dialysis machines to those in India grounded down by the hopelessness of
poverty" (India Kidney Trade). At the center of this issue is the notion of rights and how the wealthy who are desperate for kidney transplants exploit those who are
in no position to turn down money. This specific situation illustrates how mans struggle to assert his rights as a human has existed ever since humanity realized its inherent
