relationship with a requirement for balance. Personal performance to achieve this balance can be difficult, with the need to adapt and develop. Feedback from peers in a team based
exercises are an important source of information to allow for personal assessment, with results possibly impacting on adjustment of personal attitudes, values and behaviours as long as the individual is
willing to accept and make changes (Bradberry et al, 2009). The feedback received in the recent team based exercise gives a basis to assess areas of improvement. While looking
for areas of weakness where improvement is needed, it is also important in self assessment to consider strengths. In strong areas the existing practices may be maintained and honed, in
weak areas skills may need to be obtained or developed to a greater extent, with awareness that the changes in the weakness need to be assessed in the future feedback.
In all areas there is always room for improvement. In working with a team it is important to be proactive, to make ones voice heard, but not to drown
out others. In a team environment as well as receiving feedback it is important to give feedback. To be accepted it needs to be perceived as truthful and honest, objective
and fair. The giving of feedback has the potential to aid other team members, but may also have a negative impact where it is seen as unfair (Garton and Wegryn,
