since Pearl Harbour. However, it was not only Americans that were affected. The World Trade was effective in terms of creating terror due to the images it created as well
as the scope and scale of the destruction. It was also found shocking that the terrorists could train and gain access to all the resources they needed to carry out
the attacks in the country concerned. The threat from terrorists has been further emphasised in events following 9/11, as the event has become known. Further attacks have been seen,
not only on the US, but also on the allies, including Australia and the UK, most recently in the UK four bombs were exploded on the London Underground transportation system.
The international political situation makes further terrorist attacks very likely. Conflict over the war in Iraq has been an ongoing political issue. In Spain it may be argued the
placing of explosives in the transportation system were decisive in changing the government to one that vowed to withdraw troops from Iraq. Seeing a direct impact within the national boarders
appears to have influenced the way in which people voted (McLean, 2004). This can only have encouraged the potential use of terrorism to try and force change. The result
of the increased risk and the confirmation that terrorism does have an impact along with increasing realisation that terrorists can be home grown and do not need to originate from
militant countries. The models such as Huntingtons model of war between the cultures appears to be evolving into reality which has some major impacts on the way policy is developed
