the Bible, it offers up many scriptures for examination and thought for those who follow Islam. The following paper examines the significance of scriptures in Islam. Scriptures and
Islam The student requesting this paper asks what the key scriptures in the Quran are and what key scriptures are used in Islam. In truth the Quran is, like the
Bible, filled with many scriptures and none are any more key than others. One cannot go to any Christian church service and note the key scriptures that are used in
the services, or in the religion itself. As such one is not likely to find "key scriptures" being used in the religion of Islam either. The Quran is ultimately
used as a source of prayer in Islam. And, like Christian services, sermons are given wherein the leader may quote a scripture to engage in a sermon. But, it would
seem that there are no specific passages or scriptures that are used any more than another. In looking at this condition, or reality, one author speaks of leaders, the hierarchy
of Islam, and a particular sermon. In examining the words of this author one can get a good idea of the structure of services and the religion itself as it
relates to specific patterns or traditions within the church. The author notes, "There is no clergy in Islam and thus no hierarchy or intermediary between a Muslim and God despite
the daunting presence of a global pseudo-hierarchy of imams and clerics that has evolved" (Jasser, 2007). In this one sees that there
is no particular tradition in terms of services, as is clearly the case with many Christian religions, especially Catholicism wherein a "mass" is said that follows a particular tradition. In
