since the age of twelve. I function well with proper medications and regular medical care, but working full time while attending school is too much for me. I
work hard, but I must devote much time to study to learn class material and maintain good grades. Also, I have found that getting enough rest each night is
important. Not getting enough sleep makes it difficult for me to maintain balance throughout the day, even with medication. I work full time now, but the time I
work and my need for extra rest takes all of my time and attention. As is the case for anyone with my condition,
I have good days and bad days, ups and downs. The down times are temporary, but I still must plan for them and they demand extra time and attention
too. I work six days a week and I am on call with my job on the seventh day of the week.
My income varies, but still is only between $400 and $600. This scholarship money will help pay for additional schools supplies needed, learning resources and tools to help aid
me in my studies. Getting sick at such a young age did hinder me to a certain extent in developing learning skills, although
with time they have gotten much better. I also have learned valuable lessons as a result of my illness. I try harder and greater effort into everything I
