DTD-Document Type Definition Document Type Definition, or DTD, is a schema language that is used to describe the contents of a specific document. DTD is commonly used to
describe the content of a SGML document, and is also within the scope of an XML document(Refsnes, 2005). DTD is limited because it can be used to determine the
contents of SGML documents, but cannot be used to define the namespace of XML documents (Refsnes, 2005). "As a result, XML schemas such as W3C XML Schema and RELAX
NG are used to define the content of an XML document" (Refsnes, 2005). DTD is valuable because each XML file that is described utilized DTD can carry its
individual description of the format (Refsnes, 2005). As a result, DTD allows for the restriction of data being conveyed based on the use of the descriptors, thus limiting access
to individuals outside of those who share the common DTD for interchanging information (Refsnes, 2005). At the same time, recent changes and expansions of existing schema languages have resulted
in the view that DTD will have limited applications in the future (Bray et al, 2004). W3C XML Schema As
