to large nations and trade agreements and such that exist between countries. Offering subsidies and giving a nation food is not the way to cure a long-term problem such as
hunger. And, the creation of new types of resistant seeds which will not offer the opportunity for reseeding is not the answer either. In short, too many countries around the
world are suffering from hunger due to the greed, the need for power, and the ignorance of the people in charge. Bearing this in mind we put ourselves in a
position where we are an official, a legislator, for a Latin American country that has a serious problem with starving peasants. In the following paper we examine the situation and
offer up possibilities in terms of solving the problem, not merely stalling the problem. Starving Peasants When we imagine a country, any Latin American or other national country,
and we imagine that a large number of people are starving we must first look at why they are starving. In some cases, especially in Latin America, people may be
starving due to the raping of the land. People often work for others to produce food that will more often than not, make a large amount of money for those
in power, but not money or food for those working the land. As an interesting and enlightening look at just some of the figures, we note that a large portion
of land in regions other than the United States is used for meat production for the United States and other wealthy nations. In all honesty, it "takes 16 pounds of
grain crops to produce one pound of steak" and as such many people who would predominantly be able to live off of land that grew vegetables instead of producing food
