divisions in the Department: Office of the Chief, Office of Operations, Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Services, Office of Technical Services, and the Office of Investigations. Each Office is
comprised of a number of divisions. For example, the Office of Operations is comprised of Patrol Central, Patrol South, Patrol North and Metro. With the exception of Metro, each division
is led by an Executive Lieutenant in Charge and a support staff. Strategic Development and Crime Prevention is part of the Metro Division. Training and personnel services are included in
the Office of Technical Services. It is necessary to have different divisions in large organizations. In police departments one set of divisions is always geographical. This is true with
Sacramento. This allows the same officers to become familiar with an area, its residents, common crimes, problems, and sources of influence. The foundation for the organizational culture is the Departments
