them are not prepared to embrace sustainable change (Wilson, 2003). Following a huge launch extolling change and the vast benefits of change management, most corporations end up ultimately going back
to business as usual (Wilson, 2003). Then what happens is that employees contemptuously consider the change initiative as a "program of the week" (Wilson, 2003).
Lloyd and Maguire (2002) put it more succinctly: "In the final analysis, people are still the same individuals, just faced with another set of difficult circumstances" (p.
149). One problem is that most organizations cant think long-term, and they believe that change is a quick solution, one that should
happen immediately (Wilson, 2003). Wilson (2003), however, points out that for change to be successful, it needs to be integrated into the very culture and fabric of the organization. Simply
paying lip service to change wont make it happen or make it keep going. According to Textbook, the lack of sustaining change
basically comes down to three things: fear and anxiety, lack of assessment and measurement and the black-and-white battles between the true believers of change versus the non-believers who dont believe,
and never have believed, that change is necessary or essential. In this paper, well examine all of these factors, and also take
