rather difficult feat to achieve at the outset. How, after all, can one empower employees on the one hand, then cut their salaries on the other? It can be done,
as the recommendations and supporting documentation show below. But in order to do it successfully, it must be made clear that the employees are treated as a resource - a
human resource. No plan for cost-cutting or empowerment is going to work if employees are disgruntled or angry at the system. As
such, the purpose of this report is to make recommendations that will, on the one hand, take into account activities to impact the bottom line in a positive fashion; while
on the other hand, will help build a loyal and driven employee base and force in order to help the company build and maintain a positive image among customers and
the community. Recommendations The dilemma that this company faces is that it must cut costs in terms of its human resources, while
motivating staff to perform to their potential - and beyond. This is a confusion combination, but one that is not a new phenomenon. In this economy, many companies are struggling
to do just the same things. The recommendations for this company are three-fold: outsource functions not related to the companys core competency; empower the employees through total quality management processes
and build employee loyalty to help maintain the talent we already have, so we dont spend more money in training new people.
