for the patient. In this paper, well outline the best teaching strategies to assist both internal and external stakeholders of our organization in providing the best possible treatment for a
stroke patient. One thing we need to consider when it comes to teaching these stakeholders is that they come from different backgrounds and
different walks of life. Members of the healthcare organization, for example, are going to understand whats going on with the patient and (to an extent) know what to do about
it. Theyll likely know the symptoms of a stroke, and know how to take action. But members of the community, such as family members and neighbors, may not understand that
sudden weakness, trouble walking or severe headache could mean a stroke (Stroke, 2010). Furthermore, even if they understand this, they may not know what to do about it. How, then,
do we train the community? Back in the mid-1950s, Benjamin Bloom identified three "domains" of educational activities (Clark, 2009). These were cognitive,
or knowledge; affective, or feelings/emotion and attitude and psychomotor, in other words, manual or physical, skills or action (Clark, 2009). Additionally, there are ways in which information can be taught.
These range from a lecture format, in which the instructor is imparting information to the students, to context-rich problems (or case studies) in which students are given problems and have
