a play that comments upon mans inhumanity to man, as well as offering themes germane for any time. Synopsis In a time that doesnt really
matter, in a place that one cannot quite identify, the daughter of an Indian god, named Indra, comes to Earth to live among mankind in order to learn about the
human experience. While she is on Earth she assumes the name Agnes and begins her encounters with various people during her stay. She encounters a conceited student, family members who
defined the word dysfunctional, and even takes a lover who is unable to commit. She also manages to entertain and interact with several public officials before heading back to her
father with a report on human misery. She concludes that mankind has great potential for self awareness but that being trapped in a mortal body distracts the spirit to the
point that it is only able to have brief intervals of lucidity. This play is a hybrid of Eastern and Western philosophies and ideas and
is based upon the idea of hope and reality and how often these are two very disparate conditions. All in all, Agnes manages to interview more than forty different types
of human beings. Each character comes with their own subplot in which a facet of human existence is discussed and examined. Some of the more
surreal elements in this play are the inconsistency, logically, of time. Characters have the ability to change age, shape, even gender, at will. Agnes marries and tries to adapt to
