most admired, because of the way employees are treated. What is the secret of such companies? Much of it, in fact
all of it, has to do with leadership and how its implemented. A leader with a strong vision and one who has fun on his job will ensure that the
employees feel the same way. In this paper, well examine one such company, Southwest Airlines. Founded in Dallas, TX in 1972, SWA
has since then been known for its commitment to customers and even more importantly, its commitment to employees. The SWA corporate culture has bred success - for instance, in the
days following the September 2001 terrorist attacks, SWA was one of the few airlines that didnt beg for a handout. In fact, it remained in the black for many years
because of shrewd planning and its culture of finding innovative and unique ways in which to cut costs. Though the company is
experiencing the economic downturns like other businesses are these days, its still considered a company worth working for, and one thats admired. Organizational Structure
