competition, must follow regulations put forward by the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA regulations focus on issues such as how often pilots can fly, safety features on aircraft, what weather
can ground planes and other aspects. Other regulations come from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, to name a few. The airports have their
own regulations as well in terms of hangars and gate capacity, in efforts to reduce congestion. Social. From societys point of view,
air travel is hugely popular, at least in the United States. Though air travel can be uncomfortable at times, especially with delays and cramped "coach" seats, it is, for the
most part, quick and convenient. When it comes to long-distance, continental travel, the viable substitutes are train and car. However, the disadvantage of both of these modes of transportation is
