rule, all citizens of South Africa could vote, own businesses and so on. It didnt matter if they were black and white, they were all equal citizens in the eyes
of the new South African law. Yet despite South Africas move away from a less repressive regime (at least in theory), economically,
the country has yet to develop strongly in many respects. Its record on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) is dismally low. Crime is rampant and health care non-existent, at least
among the poor. Even worse, there continues to be a growing disparity between black and white, with the blacks, in the majority, having the so-called "upper hand."
But South Africa is not alone in terms of problems when it comes to socio-economics, government control and so on. China, for all that is
considered an economic powerhouse, is also having its share of problems. Its hard to believe, but experts point out that China would actually be stronger if it werent for some
of the problems it faces today. By studying some of Chinas issues from an economic, cultural, security and social standpoint, we can
see some similarities when it comes to South Africa. In this paper, well compare the two countries in terms of these categories, then end the paper with some lessons that
South Africa can take from China when it comes to economic growth and development. Needless to say, these arent going to necessarily
