that looks something like this: Some say that John Lennon was a philosopher. Others say that one of the greatest philosophers of our time was Charles Schultz. John Lennon did
have some fairly deep statements of thought in the lyrics to his songs, likewise Schultz used his cartoons as a comment on the human condition, however, one could scarcely call
either man a philosopher. What then qualifies someone to claim the title of philosopher? Having thus stated the main crux of the paper, the student will then need to go
on to begin to lay out the main body of the paper. Since seven major philosophers have to be used, that would seem the best place to start. The transitional
paragraph, then, might look something like the following: In order to determine what makes a man a philosopher or not, one must weigh what the person has said, and whether
it is pertinent to the human condition. Does it explain mans relationship with others, himself, or nature? What has been the major contribution to the world via the views and
discoveries of this philosopher? Has this person made a significant contribution that has led to the discovery or founding of some major school of thought, and affected some major change
in the way things were perceived? Seven men who have had great impact on the thoughts and policies of mankind are Rousseau, Aristotle, Kant, Confucius, Dewey, Descartes, and Nietzsche. There
