Maintenance Manuals for the U.S. Air Force, which are published on a monthly basis. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the company receives requests frequently from
Air Force bases across the U.S. to update the manuals on a regular basis. However, complaints are heard if such bases submit requests and they do not appear in the
manuals immediately. The belief is that, no matter when the request is submitted, it should be published in the next months edition.
The reality is, however, that the publishing company can handle only 100 requests a month, but sometimes receive 200 requests. In this case, the company needs to find a better
scheduling system to help both the Air Force and the company meet the Air Forces needs. What this particular publishing company is
going through isnt a whole lot different from what many other businesses go through in terms of systems scheduling. In this regard, therefore, the company can do one of two
things - -it can either enforce stronger deadlines and a limit to requests. Or it can attempt to reorganize staff and resources to attempt to accommodate everyone. At this point,
given the information we have to work with, its uncertain if there are deadlines in place. The likelihood is strong that, there may be deadlines (there would have to be),
