Bright Hub, 2008). It took six years to build and it cost $1.24 billion to built it. It was launched in December 2009. Its sister ship, Allure of the Seas
is scheduled for launch this fall. The Allure is slightly larger than the Oasis. Both ships have more than 2,700 staterooms for passengers (Vaskimo, 2010). The ships are divided into
neighborhoods with numerous attractions, shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, recreational venues, and even a park (Vaskimo, 2010; Barnes, 2009). The neighborhoods are Boardwalk, Pool and Sports Zone, Central Park, the
Royal Promenade, Vitality at Sea Spa, Youth Zone and Entertainment Place (Barnes, 2009). Royal Caribbean, the owner of the two ships, said that they wanted to overcome old myths
about cruise ships. They have created an environment that offers more on the ship than many people have available to them at home, such as a park, ice skating, rock
climbing, an open-air atrium, a water show, a carousal, and they even have multi-level suites with floor to ceiling glass windows (Barnes, 2009). Richard Fain, CEO of Royal Caribbean said
that even with this economic downturn, the company has experienced strong pre-bookings for the cruises (Barnes, 2009). STX Finland constructed the ships. In fact, different parts of the ship were
