feminists have created a number of different approaches, and an understanding of Tongs philosophical considerations in regards to the important elements in all of the approaches is necessary to comprehending
her overall perspective. The seven feminisms supported by Tong include: Liberal, Marxist, Psychoanalytical, Socialist, Existentialist, Radical and Postmodern. Tongs book provides an overview of each of these forms of
feminism, and it is clear that Tong provides the greatest support for the considerations supported by Radical feminism. But at the same time, Tong does not deny the importance
and applicability of the other forms of feminist thought, demonstrating the way in which differentiated elements support different cultural and historical representations. There are a number of similar
points that are supported in Tongs outline of the seven major forms of feminism, and it is important to recognize these similarities to understand Tongs sympathy for all of the
different types of feminist perspectives. For example, Tong delineates between Liberal Feminism, which incorporates action and consideration for things like the Equal Rights Amendment, affirmative action, and equal pay
for equal work theories, and Radical Feminism, which considers the historical domination of men over women and the elements of oppression that have created the need for separatism. While
these two different forms of Feminism are created under the basic umbrella of consideration for the needs and rights of women, they clearly demonstrate different perspectives and different focus, but
