Essay / Research Paper Abstract
3 pages in length. School violence has long been an issue between cultural power play as much as it has been an issue of adolescent angst. Easy access to guns within the family unit is a primary instigator of juvenile violence against other juveniles, say some experts. Coupled with the surge of gang activity in recent years, these factors have greatly attributed to the degradation of childhood morals. Discord among students is a normal, daily event at all stages and types of educational institutions, but it is the manner by which such antagonism is addressed that serves to either mitigate or exacerbate the problem. Children and adolescents typically do not understand what it takes to successfully manage conflicts - either those inside one's head or externally within the student body - which is why the situation often gets out of hand before it is resolved.
