was a rock star too. He had charisma and a sense that not only would he change things, but also he would bring back conservatism. Perhaps he did this in
a clandestine fashion as while he was certainly a true conservative, his persona was larger than life and inconsistent with what many come to perceive as conservative. That is, Ronald
Reagan was the real deal but his personality was such that he was able to mingle with the Hollywood crowd while maintaining his conservative views. Of course, some have suggested
that he was really soft on some things like Welfare despite the rhetoric, and perhaps he was not as conservative as some make him out to be. Yet, Ronald Reagan
was a true conservative because he held traditional conservative beliefs and did not sway from his position. All too often politicians sway from their ideals. George W. Bush spent two
terms in the presidency but his policies were fairly liberal. That is, he supported many bills coming from the liberal side. Similarly, Barack Obama has been a liberal leader but
as president seems to walk a middling path. Many presidents in fact seem to be moderate in their beliefs but many have depicted Ronald Reagan as being staunch in his
support of conservatism. While his actions may have caused some to question his beliefs, he never actually wavered from the position. Perhaps Ronald Reagan was able to secure the Hollywood
crowd because he was one of them. He was an actor and also, he was not always a Republican. Still, because the Hollywood left would shun conservatives, the widespread support
of Regan is somewhat difficult to grasp. Yet, it should be said that Regan was politically minded prior to his embrace of conservatism. He started out on the other side
