                                                    As mentioned, the history of Rome is rich and also extensive. As one author notes, "Rome, as the old saying wisely observes, was not built in a day.  
                                                
                                                    But then Rome lasted for many a long day, from the mid-eight century BC....until almost the end of the fifth century AD when the Roman empire in the West collapsed"
