Juliet" is portrayed in sensual, other-worldly tones, Tchaikovskys "Fantasy Overture on Romeo and Juliet" is lush and multi-dimensional, almost overwhelming in its grandeur. Each tells a unique story to its
audience and although the names are the same, there is a definite uniqueness to each rendition of the story of the doomed, young couple. While there are a variety
of variations on a theme as related to secondary and tertiary characters such as Tybalt or Juliets nurse pale in comparison to the bright flame of Romeo and Juliet.
Each version - ballet, opera, symphony - tells the story of two young people, struggling to reach adulthood. Many interpretations hold that the play is much less of a romantic
tragedy and more of an exploration of childhood, innocence and youthful passion. In the course of pursuing their relationship, and must leave many of the trappings of youth behind.
During the four days the play covers, progresses from shallow immaturity to earnest manhood, and the initially obedient ultimately rebels against her parents. The title characters are the main focus
