his own historic epics. Delving into such content as life, death and determinism, Aristotle gleaned much of his inspiration from a select group of significantly influential literary masterpieces.
One need not look any further for Aristotles inspiration than Raffels Beowulfs detailed description of ambition. When assessing Raffels Beowulf as it relates
to ambition, one must first identify the obvious components that lie within the storys content. An epic poem that exemplifies an era in which the true virtues of man
are epitomized, as well as how they endure within their most supreme existence, Beowulf also displays various sociological and humanistic tendencies that are not often recognized in the traditional telling.
Indeed, in order to uncover the ambition relative to Beowulf, one must also be able to identify the storys myriad other representations. One comes to realize that the
storys actual ambitious value cannot be shelved in exchange for what some people believe is the truth; rather, ambition allows Beowulf to appear in a decidedly more complex light than
previous approached, inasmuch as the components of courage, strength, power and physical prowess have as much to do with social implications as they do with historical rhetoric. The celebration of
life that Beowulf represents is indicative of its inherent display of Aristotles own social awareness, which helps one to apply the aspects of ambition. Looking only at the myopic
