Further, the language in the letter is definitely Pauline. It is believed the Epistle was written in 57 A.D. when Paul was on his third mission and was seeking donations
to pay for the expenses he would incur on this trip back to Jerusalem. It is also generally agreed that Paul wrote the letter from Corinth. Loosky (1956) asserts
it is important to know certain things before on can understand the letter. First of all, Paul himself was a Jew. The Book of Acts tells us that Paul was
born in Tarsus (Loosky, 1956). We also know that Paul was very proud of his heritage, that he was highly educated, and because of his education, part of which was
Greek, he uses both Stoic approaches and diatribe approaches or styles in his writing (Loosky, 1956). So, there were two major cultural influences in his development, Hebrew and Greek, which
gave him a significant advantage over others. Paul was also a Roman citizen (Acts 22:25; Loosky, 1956). Paul was also trained as a Pharisee, most likely in Jerusalem, which is
reported in Acts 12:6 and Philippians 3:5; Loosky, 1956). These are all elements and factors that remained a part of Pauls being throughout his life, even after his conversion.
Paul was a tax collector for the Romans in fact, he was one of the most successful and he was brutal (See Acts 9:1-2). It was on one of his
