teenagers were priding themselves on "Questioning Authority", and a time which was simply not as simple as it had been only a couple of decades before. Zen and the
Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is the attempt of one man to make sense of it all. Although it has elements of both, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
is not a book about motorcycle maintenance, nor is it a book about Zen. Instead it a book about the love of life and the search for the
truth or the quality in that life. Robert Pirsig uses the pages of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance to tell his
story about his cross-country motorcycle odyssey with his eleven year old son. Its pages do two things. They take the reader on an enjoyable physical journey through the
hills and valleys of this beautiful, and sometimes not so beautiful country, and they take the reader on an intellectual and spiritual journey. This spiritual journey is undoubtedly the
