as a nation, we have embraced the ideal of victim status through the progress ion of political correctness that has many individuals away from a sense of accountability for their
actions and active, rather than passive, pursuit of improvement. If the nation is simply made up of individuals, all of whom can be characterized in some way as existing
in the membership of others similarly victimized, who takes active responsibility for what has occurred, and who is the strength in the midst of cultural separation, constant opposition, and problematic
factors like reverse racism. Hughes is not a supporter of affirmative action or of the Afrocentrists who have levied a social war based not on the truth of history
but on their ability to propagandize their situation to maintain unquestioned support and maintenance. Recognizing that the very nature of his discourse could peg him as a racists or
sexist, Hughes appears to demonstrate the reasoning behind his contentions in an attempt to waylay complications related to his pragmatic but socially unpopular premise. At the beginning of
his discourse, Hughes appears to suggest that his arguments are in an attempt to advocate for education and for the essential nature of social existence by arguing that there has
been a definitive deterioration in the education, language and culture of our society, and that this has been based not on declining attempts for educational or cultural efficacy, but instead,
